Museum
The CSER will also feature a Museum and Cultural Center in Cadiz to serve as an educational hub where visitors can learn more about the ecological and historical development of the Mojave Desert, as well as the region’s connection to the railroad industry. The Museum & Cultural Center will house interpretive exhibits and feature local artists and memorabilia.
The facilities will be part of the Cadiz Depot that will be constructed adjacent to the Cadiz Ranch agricultural operation just off historic Route-66. The Depot will feature a dining hall and rest room facilities sufficient to handle the influx of passengers and visitors that accompany the steam train service.
The Depot is also intended to provide a “home base” to recreational vehicles and campers that intend to use the existing Cadiz campground as a rural retreat while traveling through the area via Route-66.
We hope to include local historical societies and cultural institutions in the development of the Museum & Cultural Center and are optimistic that the CSER operation will be a catalyst for new business and tourism throughout the region.
